Summer holidays can be a time of fun and freedom - but they can also bring changes in routine, feelings of loneliness, or uncertainty. Whether you're a young person navigating the break or a parent/carer supporting your child, this page signposts you to tips, resources and other useful websites.
Wellbeing tips from our clinicians this summer!
- Staying connected with friends or family is super important during this time. You could arrange to meet up or schedule in some time for a video call.
- Maintain a routine that works for you. It can be difficult going from your usual school routine to not having a structure. Ensure you make time for yourself to relax, have nutritious meals and get enough sleep!
- Doing something creative such as drawing, crafting or listening to music is such a great activity to do. It allows you to express yourself and your identity.
- It can be very tempting to be on your phone or playing video games longer than usual. Dedicating some time to spend away from your phone or console is important. You could spend some time outdoors, seeing friends or even reading a book.
If you need support now, here’s what to do:
- If you are in immediate danger: call 999
- If you have an urgent need, call our crisis line on 0800 915 4644. It's open 24/7. You can also call NHS 111 and select the mental health option.
