SEN friendly activities

Below are a few fun suggestions for you to do with your child:

Special Needs Farm (Heathrow)

  • The facility offers a range of free activities including interaction with various farm animals and you can support with growing fruit and vegetables.

Play Therapy Pods (New Life Charity)

  • New Life loans free play boxes to children and young people with additional needs, delivered directly to your home. There are different play boxes to choose from, depending on your child’s age, physical and learning abilities, and medical needs.

Helping children recognise how they feel

Use these to help children learn to self-regulate by recognising how they are currently feeling. Are they in the Blue, Green, Yellow or Red Zone?

Zones of regulation. Blue Zone - Sad, Bored, Tired and Sick. Green zone - Happy, focused, calm and proud. Yellow Zone - worried, frustrated, silly and excited. Red zone - overjoyed/elated, panicked, angry or terrified.

Support cards

The team have created a couple of support cards which you can use when you need a break or need to relax. You can print them off and use when you need to.
